1-     Discuss the Anatomy and physiology of pelvic floor muscle and anal sphincter

2-     Review the different types of perineal tears and how to reach the proper diagnosis

3-     Review and apply the different techniques in repairing third and fourth-degree perineal tears

4-     Define and discuss safe surgical practice

5-     Explain the short- and long-term complications associated with third and fourth-degree perineal tears with appropriate follow-up


Learning Activity Description:

This course for all healthcare practitioners who want to learn how to diagnose the various types of perineal tears and want to learn and have hand on training in suturing third- and fourth-degree perineal tears.


The course will be conducted by highly expert gynecologists and sub-specialized urogynecologists who have vast experience in this field. The course will take place over a day with a hands-on workshop on reconstruction of 4th-degree tear suturing on cow anal sphincters. This interactive, clinically oriented program will explore all the related aspects of obstetrical perineal and anal sphincter trauma extensively.

4. Recognize the post-repair care and follow-up.
