Post-Course Assessment needs to be performed within 48 hours of the course to obtain the certificate.

Learning Activity Objectives:

In the OBERT-DRILLs WE WILL

·       Discuss methods of managing pregnancy and birth emergencies, which may help standardize the skills of practicing maternity care providers.

·       To practice safe maternity care.

·       To review the latest evidence-based practice in relation to obstetrics emergencies

·        To demonstrate the correct approach and maneuvers in different obstetrics emergencies.

·       To prepare all OBGYN physicians, midwives, and nurses to deal with obstetric emergencies in an effective manner

·       To improve patient safety by encouraging a standardized team-based approach

·       Decrease the medico legal issues.


Learning Activity Description:

OBERT-DRILs is a high-yield, evidence-based, and interprofessional, multidisciplinary training course that is aimed at preparing healthcare practitioners working in maternity care, especially in labor and delivery units to manage obstetric emergencies effectively and safely.

 

The course has ONLINE lectures and ONSITE WORKSHOP HANDS-ON TRAINING stations with the supervision and guidance of pioneers in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.  

providing evidence base medicine, knowledge, and skills about most emergency cases in the field of obstetric (either antenatal or intrapartum (that the obstetrician or the midwife may face.

Its a multidisciplinary training, workshop, full comprehensive 2 days course which run by senior Obstetrician, Anesthetist on:

·      The most evidence base management in obstetrics emergencies and how to deal with these cases

·      To teach junior obstetricians and midwifes how to standardize the skills of practicing maternity care

·      Help to support the providers in case of emergencies, to have healthy mothers and babies.

IT IS ONE OF THE MANDATORY COURSES FOR ACCREDITATION BODIES FOR THE SAFETY OF PATIENTS FOR ALL PRACTITIONERS WORKING IN THE LABOR AND DELIVERY WARDS AND IS ALSO ONE OF THE REQUIRED COURSES FOR RESIDENCY BOARD TRAINING PROGRAMS.

 

 

OBERT-DRILL  VISION

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the course

·       You will be able to apply different maneuvers related to breech delivery.

·       You will be able to apply different maneuvers related to shoulder dystocia.

·       You will be able to practice operative vaginal delivery.

·       You will be familiar with the different causes of postpartum hemorrhage and the appropriate management approach.

·       You will be familiar with the latest updates in managing cases of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, different medications and tools used during management.

·       You will be encouraged to work in a team-based approach.
