The Saudi Association of Midwifery was established by a decision approved by the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties no. 10/C/2021 and dated 11\3\ 2021.

The Saudi Association of Midwifery is a development of the Saudi Midwifery Group (SMG), which was founded in August 2015 under the umbrella of the Saudi Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SSOG).

Vision:

To be the leading scientific and professional midwifery association in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Mission:

To strengthen midwives and advance the profession of midwifery in order to enhance women’s reproductive health, their newborns and families

Dr. Reem Algamdi

I have obtained my PhD degree in Midwifery. I am an assistant professor in Maternal and child healthcare department in the College of Nursing, King Saud University. I had been a teaching assistant and clinical instructor since 2010. My research interests focus on women’s health care as well as midwifery care and education. I am very passionate about Midwifery because I view it as a very practical profession that promotes, protects and supports women's reproductive rights while respecting ethnic and cultural diversity.

Ms. Samirah Almutari

Ms. Samira is a registered Senior Specialist Midwife. She holds a Master Degree of Sciences in Nursing Midwifery from King Saud University 2018. She is providing quality of care care to a wide variety of pregnant, childbirth client and postpartum client and new born.

Ms. Samia Alzahrani

Ms. Samia Alzahrani, Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee Ms. Samia Alzahrani is a registered Senior Specialist Midwife. She is the Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee and founding Board member of Saudi Association of Midwifery. She holds a Master Degree in Midwifery Science from King Saud University. Currently she is working as Supervisor of Education and Training Department in the General Department for Nursing Affairs, Ministry of Health.

Ms. Shoug Alotaibi

Ms. Shoug is Bachler Degree in Midwifery student in Princess Nourah University. She is creative and seeking new information related to technology and programming. She cares about pregnant women psychological and physical health. Shoug always tries to think out of the box to seek new ideas.

Ms.Thuraya Fallatah

Ms. Thuraya Fallatah is a registered Nursing Specialist and Institutional Excellence Specialist. She is a Master student in the Midwifery program at Umm Al-Qura University. Ms. Thuraya is a Quality coordinator at King Abdulaziz Almahjar hospital- Jeddah and a member in the Saudi association of Midwifery. Also she is an expert in preparing health centers for CBAHI accreditation.

Ms. Zohour Alsomali

Ms. Zohour Alsomali is a Saudi, registered Senior Specialist Midwife and a certified professional in health care quality (CPHQ). She is a founding Board member of the Saudi Association of Midwifery. Zohour has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from King Abdulaziz University and a Master degree in Midwifery from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Science. She is the Midwifery Regional Coordinator in Ministry of Health-Jeddah

Dr. Ibtesam Jahlan

Dr. Ibtesam Jahlan is a registered Consultant Midwife. She is the Vice-President and founding Board member of the Saudi Association of Midwifery. She is the second Saudi midwife to obtain PhD in Midwifery from Monash University. Currently, she is working as Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, King Saud University. She is the head of the scientific committee for the advanced midwifery diploma, and accredited evaluator and surveyors at SCFHS.
