Course Description:
This is an intensive, hands-on, course that is divided into three days with over 18 hours of pure practical training. The course is aimed to teach and help all health workers who deal with surgical or trauma patients to master the necessary and basic surgical skills.
There will be the use of dry and different animal simulated materials to give the participant the feel of suturing in different situations. The candidate will have the chance to highly focused training and practice different suturing techniques on animal models.
There will be many important topics covered which are essential for safety and patients are directly related to Essential safety requirement (ESR) which are directly related to all healthcare accreditation bodies including CBAHI and JCIA
Course Objective:
- To learn and master the basic surgical techniques in knotting, handling sharps and suturing
- To be familiar with different types of sutures, threads, and needles
- To be familiar to different surgical instruments with safe surgical practice
- To apply the different techniques on a practicing pad and animal model
