Day 1: 1 September 2023 Friday :

• From 20:00-21:00 KSA time – Reproductive Endocrinology – the Basics (Dr.Haitham Badr)
• From 21:00-22:00 KSA time – Counseling in reproductive health and family planning (Dr.Ali Hibshi )

Day 2: 2 September 2023 Saturday:

• From 20:00-22:00 KSA time Contraceptive methods (Characteristics, mechanism of action , contraindications and side effects ) by Dr.Ali Hibshi
• From 22:00 – 22:30 KSA time IUCD and Implanon insertion by Dr.Ahmad Talal Shamsy
• End of course examination (MCQs)

Course objectives:

• To define the basic principles of population demographics
• To list and define basic indicators related to population and family planning
• To list the basic steps on counselling in reproductive health, focusing on family planning counselling
• To identify the need and requirements for an informed decision-making process on contraceptive choice
• To characterize the following contraceptive methods based on mechanism of action, indicators of effectiveness, side effects, non- contraceptive benefits, eligibility criteria and interventions for certain problems during use.
• IUCD insertion and removal / Implanon insertion and removal.
